The Role of Self-Efficacy in Sharpening Students' Mathematical Reasoning Skills: A Bibliometric Literature Review

Self-efficacy has been shown to play an important role in influencing the success of mathematics, including improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This study uses a bibliometric approach assisted by VOSviewer software to analyze 100 articles from Google Scholar published between 2017-2023. Articles were purposively selected with specific criteria and filtered using the PRISMA approach. Network visualization shows that the keywords "self-efficacy" and "mathematical reasoning" have strong thematic relationships. Articles with high influence emphasize the importance of learning strategies such as PBL and scaffolding. This study emphasizes that attention to the affective aspect of students' cognitive development needs to be improved.
